    FAQs

What is the difference between relationship coaching and couples therapy?

Relationship coaching is NOT therapy nor is it a substitute for therapy or couples counseling. Relationship coaching starts from where your relationship is presently and move you toward where you would like to be. It does not weigh heavily on the past or childhood experiences rather it works on the notion that no matter the past you can choose to do something different, you can learn to love and grow.

Couples therapy focuses on past, usually helping to understand how past experiences have contributed to where the couple is presently. Sometimes it could be so heavily focused on problems that there is little to no action toward change.

What if my partner does not want relationship coaching?

Your partner may have many reasons for not wanting to attend, to include dislike of talking about feelings, fear the coach would take sides, being a private person, not convinced that it will work, etc. No worries. This is more common than not.

That being said, we cannot coach someone who does not want to be coached. In fact, this works better when you are motivated to reach goals you have set. We recommend you try it on your own at first. Your personal growth and the techniques learned, can set the foundation for change and growth in your relationship.

How much does relationship coaching cost and can I use my insurance?

Rates are discussed after understanding the unique needs of your relationship.

Relationship coaching is not covered by insurance.

    How long will it take?

Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time coaching can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek coaching in the first place.

I want to get the most out of relationship coaching. What can I do to help?

I am so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions. Your active participation and dedication will be crucial to your success.
